Swansea Market

4x30' for BBC One Wales, 2013

Swandea Market follows the lives of Swansea Market’s traders, competing alongside each other in Wales’ largest indoor market.  Using wisdom, hard work and a lot of West wales humour, over 700 traders try to turn their small business idea into a big profit.

15000 people visit Swansea market every day.  The city’s traders compete fiercely against each other, selling everything from the country’s finest sea food through to hair extensions and vacuum cleaner belts.  The success of each business depends solely on the hard work and ingenuity of the stallholder.

Filmed over the busiest period of the market’s year, this series explores their fortunes and fates as they try and keep their business dreams alive.
